I am the new Director of Assessment here at CNU, and I am working on an assessment project for a department that wants to assess its students' academic performance by counting the number of students who are employed in its professional occupations or attending related graduate/professional school. Your information from the "Employment Services" pages on your web site is very informative about the employment assistance you provide students, and I have printed the pages the pertain to employment services for graduating students.
In this project I am working on, I could advise the department about how to track their students better if the department knows about the job vacancies in their field and/or which local and regional employers consistently call CNU with job announcements (other departments here on campus know local and regional employers and maintain regular contact with them). The department could help its students develop a network of professional contacts and invite these professional contacts to campus to interview students. In addition, the information about what employers look for in an employee and resume writing are useful for the department to assist students with if the department wants to evaluate its effectiveness by the number of students who find jobs/graduate education.
Will you send me a copy of the Candidate Information Form so that I can include it in the information I send the department? Also, is there any information (e.g., handouts on job seeking skills training, etc.) that you provide to students that I could use to help this department assess its student academic performance?
Thank you,
