On December 10, 1996, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools reaffirmed CNU's accreditation.

The new summer school costs: $833.33 per LHE, or $2500.00 per three-hour course. It has also been suggested that more distribution requirements be offered during the summer.

Leslie Bohon Atkinson has been appointed the Director of the Center for English as a Second Language.

Bob Winder has been appointed as the Director of Business Programs.
Winder and Dean Webb were asked to work with department chairs and faculty members to identify program needs and priorities, and to submit recommendations by July 1997.
