Audrey Williams

   

Audrey Perry Williams born in 1945 at Buxton Hospital in what was, at that time, Warwick County. Aside from a period in northern Virginia, she has lived in the Newport News area most of her life. Williams lived in the Newsome Park community with her family for sixteen years with her parents and two sisters. Following graduating at Carver High School in Newport News, Williams attended college at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia where she studied History. After completing her degree at Norfolk State University she continued her education at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia obtaining her Master?s degree in History. Williams had a long career as teacher in the Hampton Roads area until she retired in 2002. Williams continues to be an active member in the Newport News community, in particularly as one of the organizers of the Newsome Park Community Reunion.
